The hut is a hexagonal steel construction on a cliff north of the Ahr.
In the hut one finds the sign with the elevation of 243m. This information is demonstrably incorrect.
The Fischley is a lookout point located directly on the red wine hiking trail at an altitude of approx. 200m above sea level. From there you have beautiful views in the direction of "Bunte Kuh" as well as on Dernau and the vineyards of Marienthal.
The view from the Fischley hut is unfortunately largely overgrown to the south and west.
