Access to the "bomb shelter" is from the Annex Building next to the Iron Country Courthouse. The building was constructed in 1955. However, is seems that the shelter is actually located in the basement of the Courthouse building (constructed in 1890). The two buildings are linked by a tunnel.
Please continue now going left (south) through the tunnel. The tunnel will connect you to the Annex addition. As you progress, you will go past the bomb shelter (on your right) which was refurbished during the Cold War period. Originally, there was a heavier door installed in order to protect some of the elect (We aren't sure who exactly). There is another tunnel going to the right which connects to the Corrections Department, but that access is not available to the public.
