A footpath behind the new Taree Court House leads to the Police Station behind it. Just to the right of the sliding glass door is a mostly black plaque with raised brass highlighted surround and text. The inscription reads:
In Memory of
Sgt. DANIEL USSHER

Born Tipperary, Ireland 1831
Died Moorland 13th February, 1890
Buried Presbyterian Cemetery
Coopernook Unmarked grave
Erected by his descendants November, 1990
Unfortunately, the only other information found online is that in the Government Gazette, of 5th May 1882, Sergeant Danial Ussher was the delegated authority, "for prosecution of trespassers on Crown Lands (squatting, Timber cutting without a license, etc.)"; with a Constable each allocated to the local areas of: Cundletown, Tinonee, and Wingham.
