The statue is in Jeffrey Fontana Park. Fontana is sitting on a bench with a boy on his left side. He's wearing his police uniform. There's a dog on the ground next to Fontana. A plaque nearby reads:
"This park is dedicated to San Jose Police Officer Jeffrey Fontana -1977-2001.
Officer Jeffrey Fontanas's watch ended October 28th, when he was shot while patrolling thr quiet streets of Almaden.
Although his time serving our comunity was short, Officer Fontana inspired thosed who knew him and those who came to know him after his death. He was among the top of his academy class and had volunteered at the Oakridge Community Policing Center priorr to his commission.
This park is dedicated to the life he lived and the life he gave protecting us all. It stands as a living memorial to Officer Fontanaand to all those who will continue his watch."
