This Goliath Demolition Vehicle is on permanent display inside the Lebreton Gallery of the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. The Goliath is a remote-controlled mine developed by the Germans during the Second World War.

Goliath Demolition Vehicle
This is a remote-controlled mine developed by the Germans during the Second World War.
German engineers used the Goliath in the Soviet Union, Italy and Northwest Europe to destroy fortifications and clear minefields. This version, propelled by a gasoline engine, carried 75 kilograms of explosives. The operator controlled it via a cable trailing from the vehicle. Both the vehicle and its controlled cable were vulnerable to enemy fire. Germany built more than 7,500 Goliaths during the Second World War.
