While exploring the Black Mesa area near Kenton with Mouse Jockey we encountered this turtle - I am no biologist but it looks like a common box turtle - crossing Highway 325 (just a two lane blacktop) from west to east. We backed up and probably scared the poor thing to death, but got a few pictures and witnessed the turtle reach the other side of the road.
