An diesem Platz geben 6 Grabhügel davon Zeugnis, dass hier zum Ende der Jungsteinzeit mit beginnender Bronzezeit ein Friedhof von größerer Ausdehnung angelegt wurde.

Ein unscheinbarer Grabhügel befand sich in den nördlich angrenzenden Ackerflächen. Er wurde wegen seiner gefährlichen Lage 1973 ausgegraben. Der Grundriss und die Befunde sind hier dargestellt.
Der Grabhügel war von einem Steinkranz eingefasst. Die Erdaufschüttung überdeckte eine Holzkammer, worin ein Mann in Ost-West- Richtung bestattet war. Als Beigaben waren ein Tongefäß, sowie ein Absatzbeil, ein Schwert und ein Dolch aus Bronze in`s Grab gelegt worden.
Im nördlichen Randbereich des Hügels war eine Frau auf einem Steinlager bestattet worden, die zwei siebenrippige Armreifen, und einen Kopfschmuck aus Gruppen kleiner Bronzeblechröhrchen trug. Auf der Brust lag eine Radnadel aus Bronze. Es ist anzunehmen, dass die Tote in persönlicher Verbindung mit dem bestatteten Mann stand.
Die bronzenen Beigaben sind bezeichnend für die ältere Bronzezeit in der Lüneburger Heide (ca. 1500 – 1200 v. Chr.)."

At this place 6 burial mounds bear witness to the fact that at the end of the Neolithic Age, with the beginning of the Bronze Age, a cemetery of greater extent was laid out here.

An inconspicuous burial mound was in the farmland to the north. It was excavated in 1973 because of its dangerous location. The ground plan and the findings are shown here.
The burial mound was surrounded by a stone wreath. The earthfill covered a wooden chamber in which a man was buried in an east-west direction. A clay vessel, a heel axe, a sword and a dagger of bronze had been placed in the grave as grave goods.
At the northern edge of the hill a woman was buried on a stone camp, wearing two seven-ribbed bracelets, and a headdress made of groups of small bronze tubes. On the chest was a bronze wheel pin. It can be assumed that the dead woman was personally connected to the man who was buried.
The bronze grave goods are characteristic of the older Bronze Age in the Lüneburg Heath (ca. 1500 - 1200 B.C.)".
