Tree slice of the "Wentzelbuche" in the passage of the gatehouse Wellingsbüttel
On the paper placed on the tree disc is:
"As a child, I lived next to the beech telling Mrs. Uta Rüppel.
The beech drove in the early 50s ever smaller leaves, she was sick. My dad suggested a master slice of this extraordinary magnificent tree that had to be felled about 1954 to preserve posterity. It stood in the nature and bird sanctuary Rabenhorst between the houses Lockkoppel 2 and Rabenhorst 13. Today stands here only the Wentzel memorial stone, which found its place under the beech in 1919 and gave it with the local residents the name "Wentzelbuche".
