Die Riem Arcaden sind das flächenmäßig drittgrößte Einkaufszentrum in München nach dem Olympia-Einkaufszentrum und dem Einkaufs-Center Neuperlach. Sie wurden nach einem Entwurf des Büros Allmann Sattler Wappner im Stadtteil Messestadt Riem am Willy-Brandt-Platz errichtet und im Jahr 2004 eröffnet.
Auf drei Etagen und 46.500 m² Ladenfläche sind in etwa 120 Fachgeschäften die bekannten großen Ladenketten vertreten.
In der oberen Etage sind einige Cafés umgeben von Geschäften wie Hugendubel, Depot, Müller und Zara, die sich teilweise bis ins Erdgeschoss erstrecken. Im mittleren Teil des Erdgeschosses sind einige Restaurantketten wie Nordsee und McDonald’s, aber auch normale Restaurants vertreten. Im unteren Geschoss sind neben vielen kleineren Läden auch Filialen von Saturn, Fielmann, Edeka (mit Postagentur) und C&A.
Zu den Riem Arcaden gehören auch ein Parkhaus mit 2.600 Stellplätzen, 30.000 m² Büroflächen, 62 Wohnungen und ein Novotel-Hotel mit rund 250 Zimmern. Ein weiteres Hotel ist gerade in der Planung.
Bei den Riem Arcaden kommt die Besonderheit hinzu, dass im seit 1999 neu gebauten Stadtteil Messestadt Riem außerhalb des Einkaufszentrums keinerlei Geschäfte oder Supermärkte gebaut oder vorgesehen wurden. Den Riem Arcaden kommt somit neben der regionalen Bedeutung als Groß-Einkaufszentrum auch die Rolle des täglichen Nahversorgers für einen gesamten Stadtteil zu.
Die Verkehrsanbindung der Riem Arcaden wird durch die Autobahn 94 sowie den U-Bahnhof Messestadt West (direkt vor dem Haupteingang) gewährleistet.

On three floors and 46,500 m² of retail space, the well-known major chain stores are represented in about 120 specialist shops.
On the upper floor, there are several cafés surrounded by shops such as Hugendubel, Depot, Müller and Zara, some of which extend to the ground floor. In the middle part of the ground floor are represented some restaurant chains like North Sea and McDonald's, but also normal restaurants. On the lower floor, in addition to many smaller shops, there are branches of Saturn, Fielmann, Edeka (with post agency) and C & A.
The Riem Arcaden also includes a parking garage with 2,600 parking spaces, 30,000 m² of office space, 62 apartments and a Novotel hotel with around 250 rooms. Another hotel is currently in the planning.
Another special feature of the Riem Arcaden is the fact that the Messestadt Riem district, which was built in 1999, does not have any shops or supermarkets outside the shopping center. In addition to its regional significance as a wholesale shopping center, the Riem Arcaden also has the role of a daily local provider for an entire district.
The transport connections of the Riem Arcaden are guaranteed by the motorway 94 and the metro station Messestadt West (directly in front of the main entrance).
