The Vlooyberg tower is 11.28 meters high, 20 meters long and weighs 13 tonnes. It is made up of a galvanized steel framework, covered with corten steel that gives it its characteristic, rust-brown color. This is a nod to the iron-containing sandstone in the subsoil.
The floating structure seems to defy the laws of gravity, but it rests on a small plinth of solid concrete and remains intact thanks to twelve cables of up to 35 meters long anchored in the Vlooyberg.
The staircase has 55 steps.
