Belfast Zoo is one of Northern Ireland’s oldest and most popular visitor attractions. Opened in 1934 and is owned and operated by Belfast City Council.

"Belfast Zoological Gardens sits on 55 acre steep hilside. Home to more than 130 species of Animals, the majority of which are facing increasing danger in their natural habitats.

The Zoo carries out vital conservation work, both in Northern Ireland and around the world, takeing part in global and collaborative breeding programmes, which help to ensure the survival of many species under threat."
