[ENG] The Hulbe House was built in 1910-1911 according to the design of the Hamburg architect Henry Grell (1870-1937) and is named after his builder, the bookbinder and leather craftsman Georg Hulbe.
Hulbe had the building built as the location of his handcraft shop, directly next to the St. Petri church. In the development of Mönckebergstraße he wanted to set an urbanistic accent between the office buildings. The building takes up the architectural forms of the Dutch Renaissance and thus also the tradition of the Nordic seaside towns.
The Hamburg coat of arms with helmet and helmet ornament is above the entrance to the shop at Mönkebergstraße on the right side of the oriel.
