The Portland Club at 35 Percy Street, Portland, was erected in 1860, (although the date below the pediment states 1842), as the auction rooms and wool warehouse of G G Crouch, a Portland merchant who established his business in 1842. The building has a Classical facade of fine axed basalt which originally included a stone arch over the north side driveway
