This miniature of Lincoln from the famous statue in the Lincoln Memorial is on permanent loan to the State of Colorado and featured in one of the large nooks of the lobby of the main floor of the Colorado State Capitol building. The original seated figure of President Abraham Lincoln was sculpted by Daniel Chester French (1850–1931) and carved by the Piccirilli Brothers. It is unknown who carved this miniature. The piece is about 24" (0.6 m) tall.
This is a great miniature as one cannot 'look' into the face of this sculpture at the Washington, D.C. memorial. (

The piece may be viewed Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5 pm, excluding holidays. Admission is free; no guns allowed in the building. More information about the art in the State Capitol may be found at (
