This structure was built during 1922-1923 to serve as a Woolworth’s department store. It is also the best example in Cleburne of the use of stone veneer or architectural terra cotta, a practice very popular in the 1920’s.

Chamber of Commverce

When John W. Floore Sr. moved to Cleburne in 1883 (at age 32) he was already an established merchant. Moving from Tyler, Floore arrived as a partner in the Hand, Allen, and Floore private bank. This bank ultimately became the National Bank of Cleburne.

The National Bank of Cleburne occupied the old Woolworth's bulding from 1885 to the early 1920’s.

This building is currently the Christian Heritage Foundation.
