Waypoint 23 H marks a ninety-degree bend in trail #23, also known as the Old Quarry Trail. This waypoint is a two-kilometre hike from the official parking lot but there may be street parking that is closer. The intersection waypoint is near the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) but cannot be seen from the TCT. At this point, the TCT is on the former railbed for the Canadian Pacific Carleton Place subdivision.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) maintains waypoint signs throughout the Greenbelt, a natural area which surrounds the city of Ottawa. The waypoints mark trail intersections. The signs include geographic co-ordinates and a map of other waypoints.
