EN: The Gasthof Rössli is located on a bend in the village street in the center of Seewen. The traditional restaurant, which includes a butcher and a catering service, has been run by the same family since 1967. The place is probably much older, but I could not find any details.
The sign does not hang on the entrance side, but on the sidewall, which is much better visible from the street. It depicts, of course, a horse, painted in natural colors, which is held by a richly decorated mounting with a bird of prey head.
DE: Der Gasthof Rössli befindet sich an einer Kurve an der Dorfstrasse im Zentrum von Seewen. Das traditionelle Restaurant, zu dem auch eine Metzgerei und ein Catering-Service gehören, wird seit 1967 von der selben Familie betrieben. Das Lokal ist aber vermutlich viel älter, nur konnte ich nicht darüber in Erfahrung bringen.
Das Schild hängt nicht an der Eingangsseite, sondern an der von der Strasse viel besser sichtbaren Seitenwand. Es zeigt natürlich ein Pferd, in natürlichen Farben bemalt, das von einer reich verzierten Aufhängung mit Raubvogelkopf gehalten wird.
