[FR] A l'origine prieuré de l'abbaye de Saint Géraud d'Aurillac, elle a été concédée ensuite aux hospitaliers de Saint Jean qui y établirent une commanderie qui perdura jusqu'à la Révolution.
De l'Hospital, il ne reste que la chapelle devenue église paroissiale, puis succursale, Saint-Jean-de-Dône, dont dépendaient les villages ou hameaux de Dône, La Veyrines, Nozerolles, Roudadou, La Beau et l'Ouradour. L'église, possède un clocher à peigne pour une cloche et est entourée de son cimetière.
Cette commanderie a été membre du Temple d'Ayen (ancienne commanderie templière) de l'ordre de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem.
Le commandeur de Dône est mentionné comme ayant été présent à la revue faite par le grand maître Philippe de Villiers de L'Isle-Adam, lors des préparatifs de la défense de Rhodes.
[EN] Originally a priory of the Saint Géraud d'Aurillac abbey, it was then conceded to the Saint John hospitallars who established a commandery here which lasted up until the revolution.
All that remains of the hospital is the chapel, which became a parish church, and then a church annex Saint-Jean-de-Dône serving different communities in the area. The church as a "comb" style bell tower and is surrounded by its cemetary.
The commander was a member of the Ayen temple (former Templar commandery) of the Order of Saint-John of Jerusalem.
The commander of Dône is mentioned as having been present at the review made by the Grand Master Philippe de Villiers of L'Isle-Adam, at the time of preparations for the defense of Rhodes.
