In March 2018, the train station of Eemshaven was opened. From this day on, this was the newest northernmost station of the Netherlands. A nice location to watch the boats and the trains.
Currently, a regional train to Groningen drives 4 times a day to the station, to provide a connection to the ferry to Borkum.
Starting in 2019, an hourly train connection to Eemshaven will be established.
Some cargo trains drive to other locations in the Eemshaven as well.
