Bronze front doors designed by sculptor Ulysses Ricci of Ricci and Zari of New York and cast by the General Bronze Corporation of Long Island. In keeping with the building’s classical theme, the doors feature Greek coins. The architects originally recommended a dragon motif, but the design was considered “too romantic.” Reverse of silver coin from the Greek city of Tarentum, Calabria, showing a man holding a cup while riding on a dolphin.
