Sv. Ludmila
První ceská svetice a mucednice z pocátku 10. století.

Sv. Václav
Ceský kníže a mucedník z 10. století.

Baroque sandstone sculpture from the middle of the 18th century is located on the southern edge of the village, a few meters from the intersection of two main roads. It stands on a 2 meter high prismatic base with a ledge. Ludmila, with his cloak over his head, bows to the little Wenceslas who prays. Both have a princely crown on their heads. This is a well-executed version of the Braun sculpture at the Charles Bridge in Prague.

St. Ludmila
First czech saint and martyr of the early 10th century. She was a wife of the first christian prince Borivoj and then the grandmother of St. Wenceslas. Ludmila was born around 860 probably at the Pšov castle in the places of today's Melník city. Old biographies highlight not only her zeal, but also charity and love. She became an educator of little Wenceslas, who was born Drahomíra, the wife of her son Wratislav. After a dispute with Dahomira, she was strangled in 921 with her own veil at the Tetín castle. Her remains are stored in the church of St. George at the Prague castle.

St. Wenceslas
Czech prince and martyr of the 10th century. Principal patron of the czech nation. According to tradition, he was born in Stochov as the eldest son of Prince Vratislav and his wife, Drahomíra. His grandmother, Ludmila, took care of his christian upbringing. According to the legend, he was educated at Budec fortress, where he learned both latin and slavic writing. He was known for his merciful deeds of love for his neighbor. In 935 he was murdered by his brother Boleslav in the town of Old Boleslav.
