St. Paul's is a Catholic church located in the small community of Angelus,Kansas. The church you see today was dedicated 100 years ago 5-18-1918.
This is a beautiful church inside and out. It has some beautiful stained glass windows. Beside the church is a statue of Mary and a memorial. Behind the church is a small cemetery that I believe is called St. John's.
Please be respectful when visiting this location. If the church is in use, please do not bother the parishioners.
This is part of my series of geocaches and waymarks representing episodes from the tv series Lost. This location symbolizes the series finale "The End" which aired 8 years ago on May 23, 2010. The final scenes of the series are set at a beautiful Catholic Church in Los Angeles. This church in Angelus, Kansas seemed a fitting place to commemorate the episode.
The best way to reach the church is as follows:
Take Interstate 70 to the Campus Exit- Exit 79. Follow County Road 18 North to County Road 36. (They pretty much flow into each other). Follow County Road 36 North to County Road E. Turn East on County Road E. County Road E will take you right up next to the side of the church. You will see the cemetery first, then the church. You should be able to see the church steeple from quite a ways down County Road E.
You will be on dirt, country roads once you are in Campus and as you go to Angelus. If you are not comfortable with driving these type of roads, please do not attempt to visit. This location is best visited in Spring to Fall. I do not advise driving the roads after heavy rain or snow.
