A series of panels covers approx. 30 feet along the friez of the coliseum. The Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville, Ohio, constructed the tile friezes for Coliseum and Auditorium, installed by October 1, 1936

The panels continue the timeline of Texas history began on the East Coliseum.
Panel 1 Texas under Spanish rule. There are two men with big hats and fancy clothes. One has a sword in his right hand. There are two soldiers - one standing and one on horseback. On the right is a woman with a yellow dress in front of a priest with a cross in his right hand. There are two more men in Spanish dress.
Panel 2 has two men walking, one in buckskins with a rifle in his right hand and the other in a suit with a book in his right hand. In the middle is a man on horseback with a covered wagon behind him and an Indian hunting buffalo. On the left is a canon with four men working at putting a wheel on it.
Panel 3 shows a cowboy branding cattle, with a herd of cattle in the background with two mounted horsemen. On the right is a herder with goats and sheep.
Panel 4 shows men in a cotton field. Behind them a man and woman has a large basket full of cotton. ON the right is a hay field with two men working in it.
Panel 5 shows men building with lumber. In the background are some oil wells. ON the right is a man with a surveyors transit.
Panel 6 shows a man with a crate in his hands. There is another man behind him and behind them is a truck, modern train, and an airplane. There are men working in the middle and on the right two men discussing a set of blueprints.
