The sign is located at the northern end of the large pond in Fifty Point Conservation Area. The pond is popular with anglers and the sign is likely placed there to educate the anglers about how to identify this species, in an effort to prevent it from being spread to other waterbodies. Information on the sign includes a description of the Rudd including it's current range, the impact of the Rudd on biodiversity, how to identify the species (including photos), and how to report the species when it is found.

Information on the sign indicates that the sign "is a result of a Project Based Learning Program with Calvin Christian Grade 6 students."

An excerpt from the sign:

The Rudd are deep bodied minnows with red fins. their eyes are red or have a red spot. Adult Rudd can grow up to 10-25 cm long. Rudd resemble the native Golden Shiner.
