"The church was part of a priory dependent on the abbey of Saint Père de Chartres, and was built between 1076 and 1080. The bedside and the western portal have all the characteristics of the Romanesque style.

This building, like many others in the area, benefited from development during the return to peace that followed the 100-year war. From this period (15th-16th centuries) date the tower, the transept, and the large window pierced above the portal of the facade.

We approach the building from the south-east which allows to immediately discover the bedside which is certainly the oldest part. The novel appears here in its authenticity free of any subsequent modifications. The rounded apse is pierced by 3 windows surmounted by a fine arcade decorated with a row of billets, a decorative element typical of the time.

You will notice, sealed in the masonry, several small carved heads, it could be old modillions originally intended to support a cornice and reused for decorative purposes.

The facade has a set of openings whose diversity of styles betrays the many changes that the church has known over the centuries. On the ground floor, the portal located below the current level is a fine example of Romanesque architecture of the twelfth century.

It is flanked by two columns supporting capitals decorated with foliage very stylized, and surmounted by three cords of curls, two torus-shaped and the last decorated with billets in the spirit of those of the windows of the choir. It is surmounted by two floors of bays: a large flamboyant window of the fifteenth century, then two lancets of the thirteenth century.

All around the building is guessed the traces of a funeral liter: long armored band painted on the walls on the occasion of the funeral of the lord of the place. "
