This park actually named after the African-American School that is across the street, which is named for George Washington Carver.
The ball field, named McBride Field, is named after St. Louis Cardinals outfielder and Fulton native, Bake McBride.
There are two pavilions. One on the north side (Van Buren Pavilion) of the park, near the sports fields and concession stand, and rest rooms, it seats about 80 people and has electrical outlets.
The south end of the park pavilion (Richmond Pavilion) seats up to 120 and is within walking distance to the concession stand and rest rooms.
