Fossiliferous siltstone at Kinghorn Point has many examples of Crinoid stems.

The Kinghorn Point Siltstone is part of the Wandrawandian Siltstone which also includes Montague Point & Culburra.

I recalled a friend many years ago telling me about these fossils but it was only after a geocache was hidden nearby that I had a close look. You can see the Crinoid stems singularly or in groups. Some have relatively smooth stems, others are skelitial in appearance & others are the circular bases of the stems.

Information about Kinghorn Point fossils is scant but I found a pdf document - Geology of the Shoalhaven Shire - published on 12 January 1968 which gives Palaeontology locations in what is now The City of the Shoalhaven. Chapter 10 page 34. See link below.

Fossil Australia (visit link) has examples of fossilised crinoids which are typical of those found on Kinghorn Point.
