The white house in the foregorund is the Pitkin/Curtis Cottage (still standing)The largest building in the distance is "The Pink House" one of Monhegan's first homes, it was enlarged several times to become the current Island Inn.
The original painting is on view at the Monhegan Museum of Art and History as part of the 2018 exhibition "Island Treasure: Celebrating 50 years of the Monhegan Museum".
