As the Historical Marker, for the 'Bangalow Heritage Walk' states:
"This building was erected in 1911 for Abdullah Skype and leased by Chas Blackwell & Son as a general store.
"It replaced a 1906 building, also erected erected for Mr Skype, which had been leased to McClelland & Austin for a general store.
"It becam the temporary Bank of New South Wales after their premises, (opposite), were destroyed by the 1939 fire.
"At different stages in its history it has been divided into two shops."

It is now the Waxjambu Emporium, on the western side, Elders Real Estate office, on the eastern side.
