The New England Trail is a relatively new trail that extends from Guilford, Connecticut to the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border. It technically starts at a boardwalk that faces the Long Island Sound. This waymark is at the sign in the parking area about .1 of a mile from the southern terminus.

There is a large parking lot for this park, with room for more than 20 cars. The trail itself is on different terrain: through the woods, through parklands, on sidewalks and along roadsides. It is primarily a trail through the woods, marked by blue blazes. The southern parts are easier and flatter than the northern.

The New England Trail (NET) is part of the National Park Service and also maintained in Connecticut by the Connecticut Forest and Park System. The entire trail is 215 miles.
