Irwin Park and Amphitheater was constructed in 1985 through a cooperative arrangement with the Architectural Department of Carnegie Mellon University. The students designed and built the building and the Borough covered the cost of the materials. Irwin holds outdoor concerts at the Amphitheater each year featuring local musical groups. Seating is on blankets or lawn chairs and there is never a charge. Collections are taken during the concerts to help cover costs.
New play equipment was installed in 2001 through a Keystone Recreation Grant and matching funds from the Borough. This park has a walking track, tennis court, basketball courts, deck hockey court, baseball field and concert amphitheater. The park located off Pennsylvania Ave. & Chestnut St. is open from dawn to dusk.
