This WPA culvert (which we have arbitrarily named (4) to differentiate it from the others), is located one-half mile south of 108th Street near the town of Jones. It lies in the Canadian River bottom and carries run-off from a creek, under Hiwassee Road.

A WPA shield stamped in the concrete curbing shows this was constructed in 1936. The culvert consists of two concrete tunnels approximately 3 ft. high and 8 ft. wide. The concrete from these 1930's culverts is in remarkably good condition with little to no erosion.

If you visit in late March or early April, be sure to take note of the large field of purple Henbit just north of this culvert.
