FR Cette église romane édifiée au début du XIIe siècle est munie d’un clocher carré en pierre de taille, doté de gargouilles, dont la parenté moyenâgeuse est évidente. Richement dotée, on y découvre avec plaisir de nombreuses statues, de magnifiques retables et autels, ainsi que des vitraux remarquables.
Le maître-autel, en bois sculpté et doré, ne se situe pas dans le chœur, mais dans sa chapelle latérale droite.
Un magnifique buste reliquaire de Saint Eloi, placé dans la niche d’un pilier, est représenté avec ses outils : une tenaille et un marteau, rappelant que cet évêque, conseiller et trésorier de Dagobert fut aussi l’artisan-orfèvre du mausolée de Saint Denis.
EN This Romanesque church built at the beginning of the 12th century is equipped with a square bell tower of stone, with gargoyles, whose medieval kinship is obvious. Richly endowed, we discover with pleasure many statues, magnificent altarpieces and altars, as well as remarkable stained glass windows.
The high altar, made of carved and gilded wood, is not located in the choir, but in its right side chapel.
A magnificent reliquary bust of Saint Eloi, placed in the niche of a pillar, is represented with its tools: a pincer and a hammer, recalling that this bishop, advisor and treasurer of Dagobert was also the goldsmith mausoleum of Saint Denis.
