The Red Cross in St. Kitts began in April 1942 as an overseas Branch of the British Red Cross Society. St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society was officially established on July 24, 1985 by the Act of The House of Assembly. In 1993 it was accepted as a member of the League (Federation) of Red Cross. Under its constitution the St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society must includes a branch for each island and a district that is responsible to these Branches.
The St. Kitts & Nevis Red Cross complex contains three buildings. The Main Building, Conference Facility and Day Care Center.
The main building has a sign which is inscribed:
