The Old Margaret Cemetery is one of the surviving remnants of the town of Margaret that once flourished here, located off of Foard County Rd 231, northeast of Crowell, TX. There are nearly 100 burials.

1936 Texas Centennial Marker is just down the road from the cemetery, and it provides some background on Margaret, which is now a small, rural community with a few homes and not much else:

There is a gate on Foard County Rd 231, with a sign indicating that you're on private property, and this road is to be used only for cemetery access during posted hours. If the gate is unlocked, you can open it -- and close it behind you -- and drive down the road to the cemetery; otherwise, you're going to take a short walk.
