The three-meter-high sandstone statue of St.John of Nepomuk is located on a small hill above the intersection of two original paths, to Hostivice and "Long Mile" to Ruzyne. However, both routes were interrupted by the construction of a nearby international airport in the middle of the 20th century. On the front of the pedestal is the inscription "Renovated by sponsor Marie Kubrová, born Fuxová, in 1891". The czech saint is rarely depicted in a prayer kneeling only, without the usual crucifix. The last renovation of the sculpture took place in 2017, when a halo with five stars was placed above the saint's head.

St. John of Nepomuk was a czech priest, Prague general vicar, born around 1345 in Pomuk (Nepomuk) in Bohemia. In 1393 he fell into disfavor at King Wenceslas IV. because contrary to his intentions to strengthen the royal power, John confirmed the election of a new (independent) abbot in Kladruby. Several church officials were arrested and tortured at the command of the king. John of Nepomuk was tortured most brutally. The king presented to all those who were arrested to sign a public charter that they would be silent about their arrest and torture. The only one who did not sign was John, and on the same day (March 20, 1393) he was tied up and overthrown from the Charles Bridge to the Vltava river.
John of Nepomuk's own beatification took place in 1721. In the examination of John's remains, a soft tissue, proclaimed as a saint's tongue (today's medical science speaks of brain tissues), was discovered in his skull. Eight years later, in 1729, John was canonized.
