[DE] "Die Freiwilligen-Station Fedderwardersiel mit ihrem 8,5-Meter-Seenotrettungsboot HERMANN ONKEN deckt das Revier an der Westseite der Außenweser ab. Im Hafen des Ortes liegen mehrere Krabbenfischer und es werden Ausflugsfahrten zu den Seehundsbänken angeboten.
Gebaut wurde die HERMANN ONKEN 1993 bei der Fassmer-Werft in Berne-Motzen. Stationiert ist das Seenotrettungsboot seit seiner Indienststellung am 29. Oktober 1993 im Fischereihafen an der Westseite des Hafens.
Die Besatzung besteht mit Vormann Hartmut Dierks aus elf Rettungsmännern. Benannt ist das Seenotrettungsboot nach dem langjährigen Vormann der Station Fedderwardersiel.
Geschichte der Station
1874 Ein Segel-Ruderrettungsboot wird stationiert. Der Bootschuppen steht außerhalb des Deiches am Siel.
1910 Hermann Melchers aus Bremen stiftet ein neues 8,5-Meter-Boot für die Station. Es kommt im März zur Station und trägt den Namen LESMONA.
1930 Neues 8,5-Meter-Motorrettungsboot HEINRICH STALLING im März zur Station
1934 Von der Station Swinemünde-West kommt im Herbst ein größeres, halbgedecktes Motorrettungsboot zur Station. Es erhält einen 50-PS-Dieselmotor. Gebäude und Ablaufbahn werden vergrößert und verstärkt. Das alte Fedderwardersieler Boot verlegt nach Bremerhaven.
1946 Das Motorrettungsboot trägt den Namen WILHELMINE WIESE.
1949 Das Motorrettungsboot DANIEL DENKER kommt zur Station. Die WILHELMINE WIESE bleibt als Strand-Motorrettungsboot erhalten.
1977 Fedderwardersiel erhält das neue Seenotrettungsboot CARL A. WUPPESAHL.
1985 Das Seenotrettungsboot KAATJE (I) wird stationiert.
1990 Das Seenotrettungsboot KAATJE (II) wird stationiert.
1993 Die Station erhält den Neubau HERMANN ONKEN, getauft auf den Namen des langjährigen Vormanns, der am 11. August 1972 starb.
1994 Die freiwillige Besatzung restauriert in aufwendiger Arbeit das alte Motorerettungsboot WILHELMINE WIESE. Es kann seitdem im historischen Rettungsschuppen besichtigt werden."
[EN] "The volunteer station Fedderwardersiel with its 8.5-metre sea rescue boat HERMANN ONKEN covers the area on the west side of the Outer Weser. In the harbour of the village there are several crab fishermen and excursions to the seal benches are offered.
HERMANN ONKEN was built in 1993 at the Fassmer shipyard in Berne-Motzen. The rescue boat has been stationed in the fishing port on the western side of the port since it was put into service on 29 October 1993.
The crew consists of eleven rescuers and the foreman Hartmut Dierks. The sea rescue boat is named after the man of many years' standing in front of the Fedderwardersiel station.
History of the Station
1874 A sail rowboat is stationed. The boat shed is located outside the dike at the Siel.
1910 Hermann Melchers from Bremen donates a new 8.5 meter boat for the station. It arrives at the station in March and is called LESMONA.
1930 New 8.5-metre motor rescue boat HEINRICH STALLING arrives at the station in March
1934 A larger, semi-covered motor rescue boat arrives at the station from Swinemünde West in autumn. It is equipped with a 50 hp diesel engine. The building and runway are enlarged and reinforced. The old Fedderwardersieler boat moves to Bremerhaven.
1946 The motor rescue boat is called WILHELMINE WIESE.
1949 The motor rescue boat DANIEL DENKER arrives at the station. The WILHELMINE WIESE remains as a beach motor rescue boat.
1977 Fedderwardersiel receives the new sea rescue boat CARL A. WUPPESAHL.
1985 The sea rescue boat KAATJE (I) is stationed.
1990 The sea rescue boat KAATJE (II) is stationed.
1993 The station receives the new HERMANN ONKEN building, christened in the name of the man who died on August 11,1972.
1994 The voluntary crew restores the old motor rescue boat WILHELMINE WIESE. It can now be viewed in the historic rescue shed."
