Long Description:
The ford is located on Wash Dale Lane where it crosses the Downs Banks Brook, that flows into the River Trent at Meaford.

The ford is situated next to Downs Banks National Trust property. The road surface at the ford is paved with cobble stones. A wooden footbridge runs to one side to enable pedestrians to cross.

This ford is given a Grade 1 rating at the following website, that has graded various Fords from a photographic perspective from 1-5 with;
5 being the Best Photographically and must go and photograph
4 worth visiting and definitely should be visited if you are passing
3 wouldn't consider doing a special trip, but worth visiting when passing
2 if passing take a look
1 being not very interesting and in most cases only a puddle or no water to be seen during summer months.
