Parque La Ceiba is the first public, ecological and cultural park in Playa del Carmen. Since 2008, the year of its opening, it has been promoted as a space for learning, recreation, creation and artistic and cultural awareness for the community. The park annually receives approximately 24,000 visitors and performs various festivals and environmental and cultural meetings.
One of the main objectives is to be able to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of the area. Family integration and environmental education are encouraged, under a scheme of participation between different sectors of society (Government, Private Initiative and Civil Society). (

Ing. Aída Victoria Prieto Espejo was an arborist certified by the International Society of Arboriculture and instructor of the pruning courses for the Government of the Federal District of Mexico.
