John C. Titus is buried all by himself, in a fenced-in plot in a pasture, well north of Honey Grove along FM 2216 in rural Fannin County, TX.

You're on private property here, but there wouldn't be a sign on the highway if they minded visitors. Be on your best behavior, and leave the livestock alone. They'll be curious about you, so pay your visit and move along, again, without doing anything to disturb them: Livestock spook easily, and they're bigger than you are. It can be muddy, too -- be careful to avoid other slippery things as you walk -- so watch your step. You can park off the shoulder, hop the gate, and walk right up to the enclosure, where Mr. Titus's grave could use a little TLC. This was originally his land.

According to Findagrave, the name should be "John C. Titus", as corroborated by the names of family members also listed. His headstone has it wrong, too, and there is mention on Findagrave as the misspelling's possibly being a stone cutter's error that the family could not afford to rectify. The family name is on the plinth as "Tittus", with this inscription:
