This is the Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) for the beach-side town of South West Rocks, on the north coast of NSW. While they had a typical 'Life Saving Boat' on display out the front, it seems that they are just as likely to be using a jet ski to a swimmer in trouble. Inside the entry to the club was one of the typical Reels, that used to be used decades ago; and are still used in demonstrations and club races.
"South West Rocks SLSC was formed in 1919 and has operated continuously ever since.
"The club is a community organisation run by volunteers who are dedicated to protecting members of the public who surf and swim at our beaches. We conduct patrols on weekends and public holidays during the season from October to April each year." [From website]
When I saw a Marine Rescue vehicle next to this building I was little confused, but the Surf Life Saving Club had arranged to do a First Aid Course that morning, and that was for their instructor.
