Télévision française 1, plus connue sous son sigle TF1, est la première et plus ancienne chaîne de télévision généraliste nationale française créée le 6 janvier 1975 pour succéder à la première chaîne de l'ORTF tout juste dissous.
D'abord chaîne publique, elle est privatisée le 16 avril 1987 et fait désormais partie du groupe TF1, principalement détenu par le groupe industriel Bouygues.
TF1 est la première chaîne de France et même d'Europe en terme d'audience. Elle a cependant vu sa part d'audience divisée par plus de deux en quarante ans à cause de la multiplication des chaînes concurrentes. Depuis sa privatisation, la chaîne est la cible de nombreuses critiques tant sur le contenu de ses programmes, que sur son traitement de l'actualité ou sa supposée orientation de droite.
TF1 est diffusée sur la TNT, le satellite, le câble, la télévision IP et le Web. La chaîne est également disponible dans certains pays limitrophes.
