The unincorporated community of Fox, OK has three beautiful buildings constructed by the WPA. An auditorium was built in 1935, with a gymnasium following in 1937. This one-story native sandstone building followed in 1939, and is still in use today.
This is a 10-room schoolhouse with a flat roof. In recent years, a metal siding parapet and roof have been added. The school is U-shaped and constructed of native sandstone. The front entry, located in a slightly projected entrance bay, is recessed, with a double door and transom. The school was built by the WPA in 1939. Beneath a bronze WPA shield is a granite cornerstone.
Built by W.P.A. 1939 Board of Education L.E. Gentry Jess Phipps E.T. Moose Randall Holladay, Supt. G. B. White, Archt.
