Es gibt viele verschiedene Arten, den Mittelpunkt von Deutschland zu bestimmen. Nimmt man jedoch den Mittelwert der Koordinaten des nördlichsten, südlichsten, westlichsten und östlichsten Punktes der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, dann landet man im Dörfchen Niederdorla in Thüringen, etwas 45km nordwestlich von Erfurt.
Hier, etwas abseits der Hauptstraße, hat die Gemeinde eine Linde und einen markanten Stein aufstellen lassen.
There are different ways to calculate the center of Germany. If you take the median coordinates of the northern-most, southern-most, eastern-most and western-most point of the Federal Republic of Germany, you will land in the small village Niederdorla in Thuringia, approx. 45km northwest of Erfurt.
Here, the community has put up a memorial stone next to a linden tree.
