You will find a large rectangular, brown and dark blue two-storey concrete building when you come to Wamberal Beach. This is a lot newer than the 50 years that this medium sized Life Saving Club has been organised.
While they have a membership of 450, about 380 are 'Little Nippers' (6 to 14 year olds in training). Their website claims that 110 would be active members in lifesaving duties. (

While training still involves the 'line and reel' activities, Inshore Rescue Boats, and Jet Skis are becoming the norm for actual rescue.
While they do a fantastic 'job' of running life saving surf Competitions and Events, and saving lives, they have also taken on a role to help save the environment, by being a 'Cash for Containers Collection Point'. Where you can get back 10c for each eligible plastic or glass bottle, and drink cans. [Facebook]
