The fountain Agnete and the Merman is a sculpture placed in front of the City Hall in Aarhus in the Park Allé avenue. The sculpture is created by Johannes Bjerg (1886-1955) - sculptor and director of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1943.
His work focused on giving the human figure a particularly powerful expression using proportions that did not correspond with the human anatomy. His great example was El Greco the artist.
