Long Description:

EN The legend:
It was in 1900 that the famous Croix de Rognac was erected, a metal construction erected on a base of masonry stones. Placed at the edge of the rocky bar of Cousta which overhangs the village, it is visible from very far. An oral tradition of the country links this cross to the following events; in 1852, a child of 4 years, Benjamen Barthélémy, fell from the rocky bar, high in this place, and survived by luck to his fall. In 1866, on one of the pillars of the parish church was sealed a white marble plaque bearing, engraved in gold letters, the thanks of the Orgias family for a grace obtained, as well as the date of 1866. But above From this plate, a painting, also dated 1866, featured a child supported by an angel, in his fall from a rocky ledge. The table, small, mentioned the name of the child, his age, and the date of 1852. In the popular spirit, the cross of Rognac would be the thank you of the family of the rescued child.
