On the sign you will find in addition to the plan of the forest, the different hiking trails with their distances, as well as the recommendations of the "hikers' charter" for the preservation of the site.
The forest covers 315 hectares according to the NFB and the Ministry of Agriculture (which only represents the western part of the wooded area which extends over 700 hectares) in the territories of Écault (commune of Saint -Etienne-au-Mont) and of Condette. Smallest of the four forests of the Boulonnais, it is nevertheless very appreciated by walkers and tourists.
It is in the extension of the dunes of Écault, with which it forms the "natural site of Écault", or "massive of Écault". It is also in the immediate vicinity of the regional nature reserve of the marshes of Condette and the forest of Hardelot.
Hikers, runners and cyclists take advantage of the many marked trails (more than a dozen, some of which extend to the village of Ecault, the dunes, the beach and the Condette marshes). The hiking trail GR121 crosses the forest of Écault.
