Traditional fruit presses are used on all kinds of fruits, such as hard fruits, like apples and pears, or soft fruits such as grapes and berries.
The press is one of 3 different presses I saw in the museum. It appeared to be in the best condition. All items in the museum are donated by individuals that at one time resided in Scotland County.
