Quick Description: Toynbee Fan's geocache submissions got shot down. Here is the e-mail he forwarded to me when he geocided. I decided to submit this spot as a waymark.

Long Description:
Hello Toynbee Fan,

I am the Geocaching.com Volunteer responsible for Western Pennsylvania. I'm reviewing this cache for posting on Geocaching.com, but I am concerned whether it meets the guidelines for placing a geocache. There are three issues with your submission.

First, according to your profile, you live on Jupiter -- approximately 365,000,000 miles from this cache location. Caches need to be maintained, and that may be hard to do if you live far away. If the cache gets wet or damaged, you need to be able to repair, replace or remove the remains in a timely manner. Anything less and your cache becomes litter. This has the potential to give all geocachers a bad reputation.

Before this cache can be listed on the website, I need to know how this cache will be properly maintained, and your cache page needs to be edited to reflect your maintenance plan. Please edit your cache page and then respond as described below to explain how you will meet this section of the listing guidelines.

The second problem is that this cache is placed just 40 feet from another cache you've submitted: Toynbee Tile #1. Our general guideline for cache density is that caches must be at least .1 miles apart. If you could move your cache to a location that is at least 528 feet from any existing cache, it can then be listed. When you do this, please edit the cache description and then respond as described below. At that time, I will take another look at your page, to see if the new location meets our listing requirements.

Third, I see that you are trying to submit a virtual cache. Recall from the guidelines that traditional caches all need to have at a minimum a container and a logbook. As of November 1, 2005, Geocaching.com is no longer listing new virtual caches. There were too many difficulties determining which locations were special enough to qualify as worthy virtuals. You should think about incorporating this location into a physical cache, either by placing a container nearby or using this point of interest as the start of a multicache.

In your response, please let me know how you wish to proceed. If you do decide to place a container for this spot, simply revise your cache page to reflect the changes.

To respond, please do NOT send me an e-mail. Leave a "Note to Reviewer" here on your cache page. I have your cache on my watchlist, and I will receive a notification when you write your note. All reviewer notes are deleted when your cache is published.

Thanks,
Keystone

P.S. -- If you post this as a waymark over at Waymarking.com, you do NOT need to worry about waymarking while on vacation -- it's encouraged! In waymarking, you do NOT need to worry if two waymarks are too close together, so long as they meet the category requirements. And in waymarking, it's all about virtual points of interest.
